Autumn School of Legal Writing

Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to provide students with information concerning: 

  • Basic research skills (how to find the necessary information in books, journals, case law);
  • Citation skills (making correct legal citations, avoiding plagiarism);
  • The ability to brief a case, find important information, use it as an argument;
  • The rules and structure of legal documents and seminars and final papers.

Dates and Location

The course will take place at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, Veveří 70, Brno, Czech Republic (or in other MU premises), from October 17, 2016 to October 21, 2016.

Registration starts on September 1, 2016. The deadline for submission of applications is October 3, 2016.

Assessment Methods

The students will be graded for their overall performance and activity during the seminars. Attendance at lectures is compulsory.

Target Audience

Undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. students of law and legal science.

A good knowledge of English is necessary.

Tuition Fee

2990 CZK (subject to change for 2016)
